staff profiles

Ash-Attack
Frequently using his martial arts skills when putting up the shelves in the store room, Ash (or Kirk Douglas, as known to his mum) is the junglist you don't want to mess with. You do, however, want to tune into his show on Bassdrive radio every Thursday for some proper heavy stuff, or try and catch him playing at clubs like Rave Utopia, Bassology or Awol.

Georgia Girl
Hailing from Oop North, BM Soho's petit GG is now very much a London girl. When she's not stomping behind our House counter, she's busy rocking her Blowineast residency at Shoreditch's Soho or getting it going in numerous East London afterhours gigs. This, or hiding away in her studio, so watch our for some fresh sounds soon!

Goldie
The original Goldie, not to be confused with London's drum and bass namesake, this cheeky chappie is BM Soho's quiet but deadly Scottish representative. Shop co-owner and man in charge of ordering all records for the upstairs section. If he wasn't working here, he would be engineer of the Starship enterprise.

Hilit
In her previous life in sunny Tel Aviv she was a TV and radio star; now Hilit is bunged up in BM Soho's towers as our very driven head of web shop & marketing. On the rare occasions she's let out, she's most likely practicing her Samba moves, designing obscure fashion accessories or perfecting her legendary home made Halva biscuits - which will stick in your memory (as well as your mouth).

James
Known to his mates as Sigha, James is working in the basement AND in the office; he's that smart. When he's not here, be sure to find him on the hunt for the hottest footwear around - or promoting his night, Medium at Plastic People. He's also working on original productions so watch out for his beats in 2008.

Jonny Rock
Jonny has been working in London's record shops for years - and now this super goodvibe man is all ours! Jonny Rocks the deep house section and spreads the word of discolicious sounds. When he's not grooving you behind the counter, he's either DJing or burning the stage with the Freaks. Or reading cooking books!

Kami
Our very own gentle giant. If he's not pulling out Funky/ Electro records behind the counter or trying to distract us up in the office, you'll find Kamisshake DJing at DTPM @ Fabric, Fiction @ Island and other pollysexual clubs around the world. With releases going strong on Yoshitoshi, ToolRoom, Azuli and Disco 54, you can expect to see loads more of his shaking.

Miss Pink
BM Soho's very own Miss Pink is the queen of the basement - and no, there's no prize for quessing what her favorite colour is. When she's not managing the DnB department with her muchly needed organisational skills, you can catch the Miss DJing with her Feline ladies around London.

Nicky Blackmarket
Manic spam eating DJ/producer, king of swingers, the jungle VIP. Nicholas is famous for teaching kids how to cross the road, having a good morning and driving adults round the bend. Half owner of BM Soho and super quick DJ, he is the man who works wonders on the decks (while his sandwiches are underneath them).

Rap
Chilled but not frozen, Rap is the man for all things US house. Amongst his none-BM activities, you can count co-running Bingosoul Records, maintaining residencies at Soulmates and Need2Soul and playing in various European spots. He's also good at spinning BBQ Hula Hoops around his fingers and getting the drinks in early on a Friday. And for that alone we must love him!

Ray Keith
Ray 'Star' Keith is world famous as a DJ, producer and owner of more gold jewellery than Mr T. One of the unsung creators of the Drum & Bass/ Jungle scene, Ray "smooth talker" Keith is the man behind the legendary ATM magazine and the popular label Dread recordings.

Sammy
BM Soho's Drum & Bass super-sub, Sammy has been a part of the BM family for a few years now. When not in the basement or playing around town, you can find him preparing your morning breakfast in his top notch hotel.

Youngsta
Known to all as DJ Youngsta, Dubplate Dan is responsible for BM's Underground section. If he isn't busy munching on a fancy take out in the office, he can be found turning it up loud in the basement. Head honcho for Tempa, and resident at FWD and presenter of the Thursday show on Rinse FM, Youngsta keeps well busy.

Zaki Dee
Long time Graffiti legend and fashion icon Zaki Dee is now very much a nerd, working in our internet department (when he's not gone fishing, that is). Famed in Soho for going it commando style on his bike, Zaki "hot pink" Dee is also co-founder of the infamous Luxury Service imprint and co-inventor of the future hit genre Geek Tech House. Watch this space.
